Turning Point for God is the broadcast ministry of Dr. David Jeremiah and exists to deliver the unchanging Word of God to an ever-changing world. Using Dr. Jeremiahs teaching we capture, curate, and communicate Bible Strong content through the power of media to share the Gospel with theological and creative excellence. Dr. Jeremiah is committed to teaching the entirety of Gods Word to the world, and his teaching is delivered in multiple languages to approximately 3 billion people across the globe through Turning Points various media channels.

To accomplish this mission, more than two hundred staff across various disciplines are committed to sharing the Gospel and Bible Strong teaching through Turning Point. Position Summary:

The Director of Leadership Giving is a vital member of the Development team and an ambassador for Turning Point across their community. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer (CDO), the Director of Leadership Giving is enthusiastic about reaching every language group with the unchanging Word of God and a proven history of managing and growing successful fundraising programs. The Director of Leadership Giving ensures that all major partners' fundraising activities use best practices in reaching ambitious fundraising goals and provides excellent stewardship for our donors. The Director of Leadership Giving will support Turning Points mission and leadership by identifying and cultivating donors and ministry friends. They will build and manage their portfolio and help identify new opportunities to advance giving.

Essential Functions:

  • Cultivate, solicit, and steward gifts from new partners, including working closely with counterparts assigned to phone accounts.
  • Carry a donor portfolio of up to 200 partners with the potential of making a major annual contribution.
  • Work closely with the Major Gifts and Development Support team members to create engagement strategies consistent with the ministrys overall messaging.
  • Create, oversee, and implement strategies to achieve distinguished gift income goals as set and agreed upon by the CDO.
  • Personally develop and manage engagement with a portfolio of prospective major donors selected in conjunction with the CDO.
  • Possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral, including inspirational storytelling. Ability to influence and engage a wide range of donors and key stakeholders and build long-term relationships.
  • Comfortable with Turning Point corporate executives and people of wealth.
  • Comfortable with travel limited to the assigned territory (state focus), with occasional international and headquarters opportunities.
  • In alignment with a prospects strategic plan, the Director of Leadership Giving will move potential donors appropriate and timely toward solicitation and closure through moves management annually. Moves will include phone conversations, in-person visits, and written communications.
  • The Director of Leadership Giving will make solicitations when appropriate and necessary but understands the effectiveness of and implements the principle of peer participation fundraising at higher gift levels in consultation with the CDO.
  • The Director of Leadership Giving will become familiar with basic planned giving vehicles and present them to prospects.

Qualifications:

  • 4 - 8 years of direct or equivalent experience (preferably at a Christian ministry).
  • Related experience managing high-level donor relationships with demonstrated success in closing substantial gifts.
  • Enthusiastic and skilled networker who enjoys getting out into the community, attending events, and participating in activities that position Turning Point for success.
  • Commitment to the vision, faith, and values of Turning Point.
  • Superior communication skills, discretion, professionalism, ability to work independently, and excellent judgment.
  • Skilled in using MS Office Suite and working knowledge of customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
  • Ability to work effectively with colleagues, volunteers, prospects, and donors irrespective of their economic status, ethnicity, or educational level.

Education:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience
