PT Program Advisor
MAJOR REPONSIBILITIES
Essential Job Functions:
- Provides academic advising, registration assistance, and assistance in accessing and navigating institutional requirements to current students.
- Guide students in choosing a pathway.
- Plan and implement retention and completion activities.
- Inform and referring students to other institutional resources as needed (counseling, tutoring, career services, etc.).
- Perform related duties as required or deemed necessary to meet program advising goals.
- Demonstrate continued knowledge of institutional changes including new programs, course changes, important dates, costs, and updates in university-wide initiatives and polices.
Additional Job Functions:
- Assist with graduation application process and commencement activities.
- Serve as a liaison and foster intentional relationships with other advisors, offices, and departments.
REQUIRED/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Maintain processes and systems that improve the quality of customer support services.
- Demonstrate working functional knowledge and use of Microsoft Office.
- Must possess outstanding communication, critical thinking, customer service, and organizational skills.
- Must be detail oriented.
- Must be able to work independently and problem solve.
- Demonstrate the desire to learn new software requirements to support office functions & efficiency.
- Adapt to learning new tasks & skills.
Education and Experience
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college/university required.
Required Experience:
- Possess personal computer literacy and good organizational skills.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience / training in one or more of the following areas: education, teaching, academic advising, recruiting, sales, customer service, marketing, or public relations – preferably at Community College level.
- Banner experience preferred. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
