Registrar Job Opening in Houston

Description :

LOCATION: 2855 Gramercy St. Houston, TX 77025. Will require some travel to other locations as needed.


POSITION SUMMARY:
Contributes to the organization by checking in patients, collecting payments, updating insurance and patient demographic information. In addition, candidate would float and cover front desk in various location within the organization when needed.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for greeting everyone in a pleasant and professional manner.
Enter all new patient demographic information into the computer.
Scan patients' insurance card and driver license in practice management system.
Changes/updates demographic insurance information in computer per patient request.
Communicates to patients where they need to go to see physician which includes changing the board/directory twice a day.
Charge patient credit card and post payment received from surgery interview and business office.
Sort and file according to doctor faxes received in the department.

Verifies insurance eligibility and benefits.
Posts payment in the computer system and generates the appropriate patient receipts.

Obtains demographic, insurance, and financial information from patient/guarantor.

Enters data in practice management system with a high degree of accuracy.

Explains all required forms and obtain the necessary signatures for consent forms.

Schedules patient appointments, answers phones, and communicates effectively and professionally with physicians, office staff, insurance companies, as well as patients and their families.
Assist doctors staff with closeout, logging in bank bag, and verifying continuance when supervisor is not available.
Check out and collected payments due at the time or service as needed.
Special projects as requested by immediate supervisor, physician or
Management.
Assist other front office personnel, as needed.

Good problem-solving skills.
Ability to work as a team member.
Well-organized with attention to detail.
Treat patients and co-workers with respect.

Bilingual Preferred: Spanish

EDUCATION High school or equivalent
CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES N/A
EXPERIENCE Two (2) years' experience in medical practice or hospital setting. Bilingual Spanish preferred.
