Description :
Swire Shipping- American Samoa is looking for the following position:
Customer Service & Accounts Assistant.
The successful candidate will play a key role in our Customer Service and in our Accounts Departments.
Among the tasks and responsibilities for this role are:
· Issue delivery order to customers upon receipt of full payment. For corporate customers on credit term with respective principals, ensure their statement of account is in order prior release of cargo.
· Assist with Receipting & Documentation duties as required.
· Ensure method of payments are in line with company policy.
· Payment receipt to be issued together with delivery order and receipting in company’s system on the same day.
· Manage customer/principal queries level.
· Attend to any other duties required by the Customer Service Manager and the Accounts Manager.
· Follow up with outstanding payments from customers.
· Asist in updating weekly debtors report with follow ups on overdue invoices.
· Assist in preparing third party vessel Disbursement Accounts.
• Process invoices in Automated AP system, distribute invoices to Authorizers to approve.
· Coordinates with other departments and stakeholders to investigate and resolve issues raised
· Acts and communicates proactively and keep customers informed of any issues or changes to their shipments.
· Addresses root causes and seeks continuous improvements – constantly looks for ways to improve work processes.
· Work independently as directed & assists the team in achieving goals, targets and performance standards.
· Performs other duties as requested by the Customer Service Manager and the Accounts Manager.
Qualifications for this role are:
· Previous experience in shipping and/or logistics preferred.
· Bilingual in Samoan and English is a plus.
Technical & Professional Skills:
· Proven proficiency in IT office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and ability to learn new platforms quickly.
· Ability to meet deadlines and be on time.
· Be a good teammate and help the office to continue offering excellent customer service.
· Ensure an engaging and enjoyable workplace by being pleasant and helpful and be willing to go the extra mile to accomplish personal, office and company goals.
Salary based on experience.
