Description :

Swire Shipping- American Samoa is looking for the following position:

Logistics & Operations Assistant.

The successful candidate will support the wider Logistical Team and the local Operations Department for the four services Swire Shipping has calling American Samoa.

Among the tasks and responsibilities for this role are:

• Update container moves in the Equipment Management System within the designated time frame.
• Track containers sent to consignee and assist in determining if detention is warranted.
• Approve the release of empty containers for export shipments.
• Note damaged containers to ensure they load out on the next available vessel.
• Investigate container damages to assist in determining liability.
• Inspect empty containers that transfer in from other shipping lines.
• Assist the Operations Team as needed on vessel calls.

Qualifications for this role are:

• High School Diploma required.
• Bilingual in Samoan and English is a plus.

Technical & Professional Skills:

• Proven proficiency in IT office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and ability to learn new platforms quickly.
• Ability to meet deadlines and be on time.
• Be a good teammate and help the office to continue offering excellent customer service.
• Ensure an engaging and enjoyable workplace by being pleasant and helpful and be willing to go the extra mile to accomplish personal, office and company goals.

Salary based on experience.
