Description :

General Statement of Duties

Administers Fleet operations and serves as point-person for department’s technology systems and accounting functions. Reports to the Fleet Director.

Qualifications

Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business or a related field, plus three (3) years’ administrative experience. Experience with Munis Financial Technology, fleet maintenance software system(s) and telematics preferred.
Qualifications: Demonstrated knowledge of fleet operations, and ability to quickly learn specific types of vehicle repairs and related parts.
Proven ability to interpret and prioritize requests for information and follow up as needed.
Demonstrated proficiency in the use of a personal computer and related software including Excel, industry-specific maintenance programs, and accounting software.
Proven ability to quickly learn new technologies.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment where initiative, attention to detail, and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously is required.
Proven ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with officials, colleagues, and supervisors.
Valid Driver’s License.
Examination: 100% Training & Experience Assessment
The examination to determine a candidate's eligibility for the position will be a Training and Experience Assessment. This type of examination requires that you completely fill out the application, adding pages for additional relevant information where needed, and attaching any documentation of certificates, degrees, other significant documents, etc. A candidate's eligibility to be interviewed will be based solely on material submitted at the time of application. Once the Eligibility List is prepared no further information may be submitted and no adjustments will be made.

Bargaining Unit: LIUNA
Salary Range: E

Reports To: Director of Fleet

Duties and Responsibilities: Coordinates and streamlines Fleet Department business operations, including contracts, related payments, requests for qualifications and /or proposals, purchase orders, and other related business documents and reports.
Oversees the automated fuel system data and scheduling of repair work with Town Departments.
Monitors departmental budget expenditures to assure compliance with appropriations; runs monthly budget reports; assists with preparation of annual budget.
Responsible for financial and timekeeping approvals as needed.
Serves as primary resource for all department databases, updating files and software as needed to ensure completeness and accuracy. Provides training to staff on systems.
Supports Town policies and philosophy.
Performs other related duties and special projects as assigned.

Supplemental Information

All positions may be subject to an interview process. The Town reserves the right to limit the number of qualified candidates who will be invited to participate in the examination, or any part thereof.

All outside candidates will be required to undertake and successfully pass a pre-employment medical examination, which includes a substance abuse test that includes testing for THC (the psychoactive ingredient in marijuana), given at the Town's expense prior to employment if conditionally offered a part time, full time or safety sensitive position.

The Town of Greenwich has implemented a policy of background investigations all full and part time positions prior to hiring as part of the reference checking procedures for outside candidates. The investigation will only be conducted as the last step prior to an offer. Refusal to sign the release form will terminate the candidate's further consideration.
