Description :
PURPOSE AND SUMMARY
Support the review, implementation and auditing of the following:
Food Safety and Quality Management System (FSQMS),
Facilitate the development, implementation, review and management of the Plans, Programs and other documents referenced in the FSQMS.
Take the appropriate action to assure the integrity of the programs listed in the FSQMS
As SQF Practitioner, facilitate, support, and coordinate activities and programs to uphold the integrity of the SQF system. . Understand my role in food safety and regulatory responsibilities as required by the SQF Food Safety Code and report any food safety concerns to initiate appropriate action.
Support the following programs in order of priority:
Food Safety Plan
Food Quality Plan
Hold and Release
Customer Complaint
Product Recall (including mock recalls),
Foreign Material Control
Supplier Approval
Pest Control
Assist in conducting GAP analysis and/or internal audits on the Food safety and Food Quality Management system to ensure audit preparedness.
Support the plant with updates within quality and food safety in our industry.
Lead the HACCP Team meeting with emphasis on documented program equivalence to floor practices.
Support internal and external audits as well as customer visits that are Quality related.
Maintain open and effective communications with all Departments within KFI and KIUS.
Promote an environment for teamwork throughout the plant and support the SPC programs that generate improved plant operations and cost savings.
Support the CI&I and Sales Departments by visiting customers and vendors; support completion of Quality documentation requests
Monitor the budget and capital expenditures necessary to support the Quality Department effort.
Support sensory activities as needed at the facility.
Support the overall integrity of the Approved Supplier program which includes tracking supplier performance, COAs, and periodic ingredient sampling and testing.

TITLE: QUALITY SUPERVISOR
Investigate and provide direction on all non-conforming goods through the Hold and Release program which includes the rework/reprocess procedure and the CAPA procedure.
Support the Identify Preserve program by ensuring the upload and certification of the Kosher, Non-GMO, and Organic projects.
Communicate and respond to customer complaints to plant departments and customers in a timely manner. Drive root cause, corrective action, and closure with functional teams at the plant.
Oversee the overall integrity of the Pest Control program which includes review of the inspection reports and communicating gaps to prevent issues.
Develop and oversee the Quality Technicians and Quality Analysts to effectively and efficiently perform task assignments. Assure compliance of training per the training matrix.
Review and approve timesheets.
Attend the plant management team staff meeting on a daily basis as needed.
During the absence of the Quality Lab management, support lab functions.

JOB TITLE: QUALITY SUPERVISOR
POSITION DIMENSIONS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Internal Contacts:
Direct contact with all KCFI, KIU and CI & I management.
External Contract:
Be diplomatic and clear as a Customer and Supplier liaison when required by Management.
Education Level and Focus:
Minimum of BS/BA in Science, Food Science, or related field or equivalent years of experience and performance in the industry.
Skills and Abilities:
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Possess the ability to convey technical applications to non-technical personnel. Exercise good judgment in problem solving situations.
Technical and Analytical:
Must have excellent organizational and computer skills. Requires great attention to detail. Use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point) as well as an understanding of food microbiology sampling and testing is a must. Use of statistical and process mapping software required for both participation in Six Sigma projects and routine report writing.
Administrative and Operations:
Reliable and punctual with reports and presentations. Possess good safety habits.
Physical Demands:
Mix of office and laboratory work. Must be able to work extended hours on occasion and be willing to travel up to 20% of the time. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.
Work Environment:
Some chemical fumes, good lighting, hot/cold and humid temperature, high noise levels, wet floors. This is a Safety Sensitive Position.
