    Duties Summary

    This is a Bargaining Unit position.
    This is not a (drug) testing designated position (TDP).
    This position is located with the Small Business Administration, Office of Capital Access, Office of Surety Guarantees in Washington DC.
    Serves as a Management Support Specialist and is responsible for creating and reviewing program data, managing information system enhancements and monitoring budget requests.

    Responsibilities

    As a Management Support Specialist, you will perform the following duties:

    • Collects, analyzes, and reports on a wide range of program data including surety bond program statistics and performance elements.
    • Reviews and evaluates the accuracy, relevancy, and sufficiency of surety companies.
    • Performs a variety of difficult administrative, technical, and analytical duties pertaining to the surety bond guarantee program.
    • Processes budget items including travel authorizations, vouchers, and credit card transactions.

    Qualifications For the GS-9:
    You must have at least one-year (12-months) of specialized work experience equivalent to the GS-7 grade level in the federal service (obtained in either the private or public sector) that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.
    Specialized experience for this position MUST include ALL of the following:
    1. Collecting, creating, analyzing, and reviewing program data.
    2. Understanding of the budget process for an office/division.
    3. Understanding of travel regulations and voucher processing.
    4. Assisting in evaluating program issues and recommending improvements.

    Education: Possess a Master's or equivalent degree related to the position being filled (e.g., business, finance, accounting) or 2 years of progressively higher graduate level education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D. if related.

    Combination of Experience and Education: Combination of education and experience as specified above. For example, an applicant who has 1 full year of Master's level education (i.e., 50% of education required) and 6 months of creditable specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level as described above (i.e., 50% of the required experience) would equate to 100% of the required experience for this position.
