Job Description:


The Program Coordinator of the Family Life Center (FLC) serves as the primary representative of all programs and education provided by the Family Life Center located in Huntsville, AL. The Coordinator will need to have or develop relationships to communicate the mission of FLC to donors, participants, volunteers and the overall state of Alabama. The Coordinator will provide governance, financial management, program leadership, and Center operations leadership to further the mission of the FLC.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage, plan and direct daily operations of the FLC.
Coordinate development, scheduling, and delivery of educational courses and activities.
Write, review, and process all proposals and requests for funding.
Secure resources and develop, implement, and evaluate strategies to market the Family Life Center to all Huntsville Housing Authority residents and other interested parties.
Provides leadership for public relations, extramural funding opportunities, and long-term strategies for sustainability of the FLC programs.
Communicate and support the mission and vision of .
Recruit needed volunteers for offered programs and activities
Coordinate expertise for program delivery from the public, and Alabama A&M University faculty and staff including Extension Specialists and Urban Regional Extension Agents
Gather data and prepare all required reports
Position requires strategic thinking, decision making, and planning ability, in a low resource environment.


Minimum Position Requirements (including years of experience, certifications, licenses, etc.):

A Master's degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Family and Consumer Sciences, Communications, Marketing or other relevant discipline.
Minimum of 3 years' demonstrated leadership in a relevant role (non-profit, Extension programming)
Demonstrated excellent organization skills.
Demonstrated understanding of reporting required for State and Federal funding agencies.
Transparent leadership style and high integrity leadership.
Demonstrated skill in relationship building (internal and external) and confident with public speaking.

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Basic proficiency in using spreadsheet software and other computer software packages (Microsoft 365)
Experience in Extension programming, Community/Public Administration or Government relations
Supervision of direct reports, with supervisor responsibility for HR activities.

Additional Information:

SALARY: $39,000$ 45,000 commensurate with education and experience
