The Offering Management Specialist will support the Lead Offering Management team while engaging on product related activities ranging from being the ultimate voice of the customer to leading cross functional teams that will implement best in class functionality to meet the needs of our evolving customer base. This position will take ownership of the product portfolio and related activities to ensure the customer has the proper portfolio to be successful in winning jobs and penetrating the market. This position is an opportunity to learn from experienced offering management team members while playing a critical role in the premium brand of the Fire & Life Safety business. Partnering with cross-functions to drive product knowledge, is key to your success. You will conduct product launches and growth activities, to increase sales and maintain the product portfolio capturing product changes that contribute to the execution and performance of a product, under the direction of the Product Manager. Essential Functions: New Product Development: Leads cross-functional teams in the execution of new product introductions. This includes, but not limited to, working in partnership with engineering, sales, quality assurance, and other functional areas to meet launch objectives. Leverage customer interactions to capture key insights for improvement on new product initiatives. Acts as “product owner” as per Agile methodology. Participates and/or owns the training of new products for the sales team and other customer facing functions. Ongoing sales and customer support: Develops, implements, and maintains marketing collateral (sales manual, data sheets, etc.) and collaborates with other functions in the development of best in class sales tools. Provides leadership in the resolution of highly complex technical support issues. Coordinates necessary activities amongst internal functions and ensures customer applications and new opportunities are adequately supported by engineering and operations. Portfolio management: Manage the product life cycle for the portfolio. Generate monthly reports demonstrating portfolio vitality and provides updates to senior management. Influence and drive changes that positively impact the business. Perform SKU rationalization quarterly with senior offering leaders. Work with ISC and supply chain to actively monitor end of life components, and take proactive action as needed.
Maintain market intelligence via VOC and competitive assessment: Activities include the development and execution of qualitative and quantitative VOC to identify new business opportunities, and the identification of market gaps (e.g. white space) of high value potential for the Fire business. Develops and maintains competitive intelligence including side-by-side analysis, and overall competitive position. Routinely conducts research on primary competitors to understand their product offering and business strategy and identify differentiation opportunities. Evaluate NPI concepts, new product ideas, features/benefits, and ways to improve the user experience of new and existing products. 10% travel required CRITICAL COMPETENCIES

YOU MUST HAVE
  • BS Engineering /Science or BS Business/Marketing
  • 2-3 years of work experience
WE VALUE
  • BS Eng/Science with coursework in Marketing.
  • BS Business or Marketing with coursework in Technology related fields.
  • Experience in the industry preferred, but not required.
  • Some technical related document drafting experience.
  • Work independently decisions within degree of authority
