Practical Nursing Instructor (BHI, CFE)

Responsibilities include but are not limited to classroom and clinical instruction and supervision of Practical
Nursing students taking nursing in the nursing program and instruction of the nursing pharmacology course prior to acceptance into the nursing program. Duties include preparation of lesson plans, development of program syllabi, goals and objectives for classroom instruction; evaluation of student progress in attaining goals and objectives while preparing them for licensure; advisement of students; accreditation; providing assistance in recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts; ensuring safety and security requirements are met; maintenance of student files; and other duties as assigned. Occasional instruction of diploma level core courses may be required. This position will require travel between the Ben-Hill Irwin and Coffee campus locations.
Wiregrass Georgia Technical College seeks to recruit, hire, and retain faculty and staff who display a willingness to support students of underrepresented gender and minority groups, as well as students with disabilities. An Associate's Degree or higher in Nursing from a nationally or regionally accredited college or university. Must have at least three (3) years related work experience in the past seven (7) years as an RN. Current unencumbered Georgia Registered Professional Nursing License required. Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Must be self-motivated and willing to serve as an active part of the allied health team.
Bachelor's Degree or higher in Nursing from an accredited college or university. Teaching at the post-secondary level is a plus.
Salary is low 50s per year. This position is full-time and includes standard State of GA benefits such as leave accrual, options for health & other supplemental benefits, and retirement.
Pursuant to college policy, a thorough background investigation, including a criminal history records check and employment history reference checks will be performed for all candidates offered employment. Other checks such as Motor Vehicle Records may be conducted for any candidate receiving an offer, as well as internal candidates prior to being promoted or transferred into a position with the college. Other Required Tests: During the course of employment, incumbents in this position may be required to supervise students at an external clinical site or other medical facility as a condition of employment. Based on this assignment, the incumbent may be required to undergo and receive a negative finding/result on a five (5) panel drug test BEFORE placement.
