We are currently looking for a qualified individual to fill the role of Dietary Manager for a skilled nursing facility in the greater Toledo area. The purpose of this position is to lead the culinary squad to achieve its highest potential by serving the best food inthe most economical manner possible with the cleanest department. This position is a working manager where the right person will set an example at times working alongside their team for the rest of the team to follow and will walk the walk. This position will be the "expert" on all things related to food and will provide strategic guidance and direction on all issues related to feeding, nutrition, dining services, program development implementation, costs, and regulatory/quality compliance.
Implements and manages organization’s dietary and nutritional policies and procedures in compliance with federal, state, local and organization’s regulations to meet residents’ needs.
Will oversee and inspect food and its preparation and storage, utilizing their knowledge of regulatory requirements to ensure proper sanitation and food safety.
Will plans Center recipes, menus and changes, conferring with the facility Dietician to ensure that recipes and menus conform to current nutritional standards.
Will review resident needs, diet information and care plans, and discuss such with families, the nursing staff and dietician.
Will oversee development of food and nutrition goals and objectives in adherence with regulatory requirements and ensure menus, food preparation and distribution operations are timely, cost effective and comply with acceptable standards.
Will develop and provide guidance and direction to core programs that pertain to the dining experience including timeliness, organization, customer satisfaction, budget and compliance.
Will troubleshoots and problem-solve operational, staffing, training issues, and recommend changes, solutions and modifications.
Will oversee contractual relationships with food and supply vendors.
Will fosters a consistent and positive work environment that attracts, retains and motivates talented people in the dietary department and throughout the organization.
Will define, represent and promote employee expectations so that all staff understand and demonstrate what is the expectation and supports excellence.
Will recruit, cultivate and support talented employees to meet the organizational and functional competencies for the position.
Will coach, mentor, and counsel supervised employees regarding the performance of the duties of their position.
Degree (Bachelor’s, Associates and/or Vocational) with study in Dietary or Food Service Management, Culinary Arts and/or Nutrition Science
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Possess a Serve Safe Certification from the State of Ohio that is in good standing
Credentialed Certified Dietary Manager
2 or more years’ experience working as a Food Service Manager, Chef or in a Supervisor/Assistant Manager capacity
Must possess technical and computer skills
Salary negotiable for the right candidate
Additional salary for the additional credentials or Registered Dietician
