Position Summary

Oversee the operations of Social Services department. Including developing policies and procedures, hiring and ensuring regulatory compliance. In addition, responsible for a full caseload.

Facility Based Description

Regional Medical Center of San Jose is a 264 bed acute care hospital with a Level II Trauma Center. The hospital provides a host of technologically-advanced services including Cardiovascular, Neuro, Orthopedic, Bariatric and General Surgery, Interventional Pulmonology and services for Women. Regional holds Joint Commission advanced certification as a Comprehensive Stroke Center and a Get with the Guidelines- Stroke Gold Plus Performance Achievement Award from the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association. It is a certified Chest Pain Center, county-designated STEMI (heart attack) Receiving Center, designated Lung Cancer Screening Center, a member of Extracorporeal Life Support Organization (ECMO) and is certified by The Joint Commission in Sepsis care.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum: 2 years work experience in area of supervision preferred
Preferred: Evidence of experience which defines competency in Social Services, hospital and healthcare management.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum: Master's degree in Social Work (M.S.W.)
Preferred:
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
Minimum: Ability to manage department employee relations/HR issues. Ability to work at a fast pace and to prioritize multiple assignments / projects and respond to numerous requests. Manage stress appropriately and make decisions under pressure. Work with a diverse mix of people. Current Microsoft, computer and other relevant software skills.
